CareFor’s story began over 25 years ago. Throughout the years, our ethos has remained the same—a long-standing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all of our clients in the comfort of their homes. What began as a small team of dedicated healthcare professionals who recognized a need for personalized, in-home care has evolved into a team of nearly 150. Over the years, our services have evolved, yet we remain deeply rooted in empathy and respect for our clients. We are steadfast in our mission to bring you and your family peace of mind on the aging, illness, and injury journey.

Our Journey of Care

2000

Debbie Pearson, RN, founded CareFor (formerly Nurses Case Management), in response to the growing need for a medical professional to help families navigate the complex medical system and social needs of individuals with special needs, sudden illness, chronic disease, dementia, or in need of geriatric or end-of-life care.

2013

The demand was greater than Debbie could meet on her own, so she grew her business to include other highly trained and deeply experienced medical professionals. The team increased capacity to scale the business and meet the growing needs in Central Texas.

2015

After serving as an individual Guardian for 15 years, Nurses Case Management became a Private Professional Guardianship Program, and started serving as Medical Power of Attorney (MPOA) for clients in need.

2017

The team formalized the caregiving side of the business and became a licensed Personal Assistance Service (PAS), allowing Nurses Case Management to officially employ the caregivers, ensuring the highest quality caregiving services.

2018

Nurses Case Management acknowledged the growing sophistication of the marketplace and the consumer, and rebranded to CareFor to highlight and honor the quality of our care and the breadth of our services.

2023

CareFor extends their reach from Central Texas into the San Antonio market.

2024

CareFor broadens their service offering to embrace continuity of care with Hospice.
